Annual reports claim that Shell targets are aligned with IPCC 1.5° pathway. Clear disconnect, impossible to check your claim. Relay heavily on compensation technologies. Which specific IPCC scenario do you use to prove your alignment? And how can you be sure compensation technologies will work?

New information is that we will reach 1.5 degrees by 2027. Will Shell agree to change its targets to move out of all fossil fuels by 2030? We don’t have the time you require for your strategy, 2050 is much too late.

She speaks for the people she tries to help, who face the consequences of global warming, droughts increasing temperatures etc. Even in the UK fossil there are fuel pollution consequences. 1 in 5 deaths across the globe are due to fossil fuel air pollution, that’s 8M people a year. Does Shell recognize these impacts and what it is doing now to reduce pollution? That’s a medical question. Here’s a political question: Fossil fuels are a global addiction. How do you reply to that?

2 questions with respect to energy security scenario report – For the Sky 2050 scenario, you say companies prefer to generate cash for their investors rather than invest in additional production capacity. At what point would Shell follow this and return cash to investors instead of investing in additional production? – Do you see Shell’s recent statements leading to growing backlash, and how are you managing risks associated with significant societal activism, including new calls for financial reparation?
